Job summary

Hanwha Philly Shipyard seeks a qualified safety professional to enforce HPSI safety procedures on-site across shipyard operations. You will perform inspections, identify hazards, and document findings while collaborating with supervisors and crews to implement practical safety solutions.

The role requires ability to manage confined-space entries, PPE usage, and coordination with emergency response teams. Training provided as needed; 1–2 years in shipyards is preferred.

Qualifications

• Practical knowledge of health, safety, and environmental practices in an industrial or construction setting.
• Ability to recognize and resolve hazards and problem situations effectively.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills, both verbal and written.

Responsibilities

• Communicate and enforce HPSI safety procedures, rules and regulations.
• Conduct formal and informal inspections of shipyard work sites to monitor safety compliance.
• Collaborate with supervisors and workers to address safety and environmental concerns.
• Assist production teams in maintaining proper lighting and ventilation.
• Perform daily housekeeping inspections of shops, docks, and vessels under construction.
• Test and certify confined spaces prior to entry and during shifts.
