Job summary

Hyundai Engineering America is seeking an experienced HSE Manager to lead health, safety, and environmental programs for the Hanwha Philly Shipyard Expansion Project. This role requires strategic thinking, strong leadership, and a practical approach to on-site safety.

You will develop and implement project HSE strategies, ensure regulatory compliance, oversee safety operations, investigate incidents, and mentor field teams and subcontractors to sustain a robust safety culture across all

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Construction Management, or related field.
• Minimum 7 years of construction safety and health experience.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and compliance requirements.
• Experience in hazard identification and risk assessment.
• Experience in incident reporting, investigation, and corrective action management.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced construction environment.

Responsibilities

• Monitor OSHA compliance and site safety requirements.
• Lead toolbox talks and safety orientations.
• Conduct hazard assessments and implement risk controls.
• Investigate incidents and oversee corrective actions.
• Coordinate with subcontractors on site safety requirements.
• Support emergency response planning and incident management.
• Develop and improve HSE programs and reporting systems.
• Provide field safety oversight during construction startup.
• Mentor HSE staff to strengthen safety performance.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
