Job summary

Newport News Shipbuilding, part of HII, is seeking an experienced electrical technician to repair, install, and maintain electrical systems on naval production equipment at our site. You will work with control systems and industrial infrastructure, performing diagnostics and preventative maintenance.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma and relevant experience or an associate degree/apprenticeship with several years in electrical work, plus the ability to read schematics and follow

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with 5 years related experience; Apprentice graduate/Associate's Degree in relevant discipline and 3 years related experience.

Responsibilities

• Repairs, constructs, installs, troubleshoots, and maintains routine electrical systems and equipment.
• Modifies, aligns, calibrates, designs, programs, installs, tests, and troubleshoots electrical control systems and production equipment.
• Cuts, threads, bends, couples, and straps conduit as required.
• Troubleshoots electrical malfunctions; inspects circuits and wiring for shielding/grounding; tests equipment for safety and efficiency.
