Eastern Shipbuilding Group, Inc. is seeking an electrical fitter to install, repair, maintain, and service electrical equipment and fittings on ships.

The role requires working with motor starters, controllers, switchgears, transformers, and control panels, and performing precise wiring and fitting tasks in a heavy industrial shipyard. The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of electrical fitter experience, a high school diploma or GED, and knowledge of OSHA/ABS regulations.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required, plus 3-5 years of electrical fitter experience in shipyards.
  • Ability to tack weld with 7018/6011 stainless rod, MIG, and aluminum.
  • Knowledge of ship terminology, safety, OSHA, and ABS regulations.
  • Able to read electrical specifications, wiring diagrams, and building plans.
  • Strong math and measurement skills.

Responsibilities

  • Regular attendance and ability to work flexible hours, including overtime, weekends, and holidays.
  • Comply with safety, ethics, and environmental rules, regulations, and policies while performing duties.
  • Update and maintain records of all installation and repair work.
  • Work in different settings for installation, repair, maintenance of electrical equipment and fittings.
  • Carry out mechanical fitting and assembling works relevant to heavy current equipment, and machine or fabricate parts for such equipment.
  • Install electrical equipment such as motor starters, controllers, switchgears, switchboards, busbars, transformers, and control panels.
  • Install meters, instruments, relays, and protection equipment.
  • Install brackets, mechanical fittings, and assembly work in accordance with specifications.
  • Rig and set equipment and foundations.
  • Work with minimal supervision.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
