Job summary

Eastern Shipbuilding Group, Inc. is seeking an experienced electrical technician to install, inspect, and service electrical wiring and control systems on marine vessels and shipyard facilities.

You will troubleshoot circuits, inspect components for faults, and perform preventive maintenance to ensure safe and reliable operation. The role requires reading blueprints and schematics, using test equipment, and working with a team in a fast-paced shipyard environment.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or GED plus 3–5 years of experience in electrical/electromechanical systems maintenance, preferably on marine electrical systems.
• Ability to read blueprints and schematics and troubleshoot using test equipment.
• Knowledge of safety rules, regulations, and proper use of tools and PPE.

Responsibilities

• Plan layouts, install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, equipment, and control systems on marine vessels and shipyard buildings.
• Test and troubleshoot circuits; detect hazards and perform repairs as needed.
• Maintain generators, switchboards, controllers, circuit breakers, motors, distribution panels, lighting circuits, and DC propulsion systems.
• Work with minimal supervision and perform other duties as assigned.
