Job summary

IMIA, LLC, a national marine surface preparation and painting contractor, seeks a Shipyard Production Worker to support abrasive and non-abrasive coating removal, surface preparation, and recoating tasks on U.S. Navy ships and submarines.

Duties include using hand and power tools, maintaining clean work areas, and assisting in hot work safety. Work involves setting up and breaking down equipment, handling materials, and performing general duties in a shipyard environment with oversight to ensure

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• OSHA-10 certification or training.
• Forklift certification preferred.
• Firewatch certification required or obtainable through company training.

Responsibilities

• Prepare job work sites and coordinate with team to meet daily goals.
• Assist spray painters, blasters, and other team members during operations.
• Clean tanks and spaces using prescribed methods and equipment.
• Operate pneumatic, electric, and hand tools.
• Prepare surfaces for coating as per paint manufacturers' specs.
• Mix paints as directed and apply coatings.
• Move materials and equipment using dollies, hand trucks, or carts.
• Dispose of empty paint and solvent cans per safety standards.
• Monitor hot work operations and ensure compliance with permits.
