ARMADA INC. in Chesapeake, VA seeks a Shipyard Production Worker to participate in abrasive and non-abrasive removal of coatings and paint from surfaces, using hand tools and power tools.
You will help prepare work sites, set up and break down equipment, and support spray painters and blasters on Navy shipyard projects. The role requires safety awareness, housekeeping, and adherence to hot work and fire safety procedures.

Summary
The Shipyard Production Worker participates in abrasive and non abrasive removal of coatings systems and paint from surfaces as directed using power and non powered hand tools; cleans work areas as needed and directed to always maintain a safe work area; participates in preparing work areas prior to work, and breakdown of set ups after work is completed. Perform duties as Fire Watch person during hot work operations to ensure safe work at all times and taking action to prevent fires during spark producing or other hot work operations. Assist in the application of new coatings systems and paint through the use of paint brushes, rollers, and other hand held equipment used during recoating of systems ready for application to surfaces. Assist in the setting up and breaking down of all equipment in use during operations in shipyard environment. Within drydocks and aboard vessels assist with or perform cleaning, housekeeping, loading materials, moving materials and supplies or equipment, setting up or breaking down containments, monitoring various equipment for proper and safe operation as trained to, and other general duties as directed. Work is primarily performed on U.S. Navy Ships and Submarines in the Shipyard Environment.
