Job summary

Rust-Oleum is seeking a Shipping Team Lead in Columbus, GA to collaborate with shipper/receivers, guide the team, and ensure accurate shipping operations. You will handle documentation, leverage software tools, and help troubleshoot issues to maintain efficiency.

The role requires 4–7 years of related experience and strong MS Office skills. The position emphasizes cross-functional communication, reliability, and continuous improvement within a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Four to seven years related shipping experience.
• Strong knowledge of MS Office; proficiency in Windows.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and communicate priorities.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with shipper/receivers to prepare, receive, load, and unload shipments, ensuring smooth operations within the department.
• Ensure accurate and quality work by performing all shipping functions, including completing necessary documentation, utilizing relevant software and technology, and inspecting products for quality.
• Support and validate team efforts by answering questions, providing guidance, and confirming that tasks align with department standards and objectives.
• Communicate daily plans and priorities to the shipping team to meet departmental goals and maintain clear direction.
• Assist the shipping supervisor by providing regular feedback on workflow and recognizing when to escape issues for resolution.
• Troubleshoot complex issues with minimal assistance, independently resolving challenges as they arise.
• Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance department efficiency and effectiveness.
• Cross-train in production areas across the facility to ensure comprehensive operational knowledge.
• Work under minimal supervision, demonstrating reliability and accountability in daily tasks.
