Job summary

Express Employment Professionals - Cincinnati East is seeking a Shipping Specialist in Minnesota with a Monday-Friday schedule (8:00 am - 4:30 pm). Pay ranges from $21 to $24 per hour.

You will verify outgoing shipments using ERP, Microsoft Office, and other software; prepare items for shipment, pick and assemble orders, address and ship finished goods, and coordinate transportation. The role requires knowledge of process variables to achieve desired outcomes under supervision, with safety rules

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Minimum of one year warehouse experience is preferred.
• Familiarity with ERP, Word and Excel is expected.
• Ability to operate a forklift safely with training provided.

Responsibilities

• Examine shipment contents and compare with records to verify accuracy.
• Prepare documents such as work orders, bills of lading, or shipping orders.
• Prepare materials for shipping with high accuracy using scanning processes.
• Record shipment data such as weight, charges, space, damages or discrepancies.
• Communicate with establishment representatives to rectify problems like damages or shortages.
• Contact carrier representatives to arrange shipping and delivery of materials.
• Determine shipping methods, routes or rates for materials to be shipped.
• Compute shipping and storage charges using price lists or computer systems.
• Capable of picking orders in the warehouse with high accuracy using scanning.

POSITION SUMMARY

Shipping Specialist:

Hours are Monday-Friday 8:00 am -4:30 pm

Pay- $21-24/hour.

Verify and maintain records on outgoing shipments using our ERP system, Microsoft Office, and other third-party software. Prepare items for shipment; duties include picking, assembling, addressing, and shipping finished goods; verifying, and arranging for the transportation of products.

Work requires some knowledge of process variables to produce a desired outcome with supervision.

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:

The following are essential job functions.

• Examine shipment contents and compare them with records, such as manifests, invoices, or orders, to verify accuracy.
• Prepare documents, such as work orders, bills of lading, or shipping orders, to route materials.
• Prepare materials/items for shipping with a proficient level of accuracy using the scanning process. Use best shipping practices consistently to ensure product arrives in good condition, reducing damage claims and loss.
• Record shipment data, such as weight, charges, space availability, damages, or discrepancies, for reporting, accounting, or recordkeeping purposes.
• Confer or correspond with establishment representatives to rectify problems, such as damages, shortages, or nonconformance to specifications.
• Contact carrier representatives to make arrangements or to issue instructions for shipping and delivery of materials.
• Determine shipping methods, routes, or rates for materials to be shipped.
• Compute amounts, such as space available, shipping, storage, or demurrage charges, using computer or price list.
• Capable of picking orders in the warehouse with a high level of accuracy using the scanning process.
• Maintains hazardous certification provided
• Contribute to a safe and respectful work environment by complying with all safety rules, including wearing the required PPE.
• Other related duties as assigned.
