Job summary

Veolia North America is seeking a Shipping and Receiving Supervisor to oversee the service center's shipping, receiving, and coordination activities. You will ensure accurate data, compliance with DOT regulations, and daily operational efficiency across inventory, logistics, and payroll-related processes.

You will lead a team, coach staff, support recruitment, and implement training while staying current with safety and regulatory requirements within a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required, some college or associate’s degree in a related field preferred, or can demonstrate related equivalent work experience.
• 2+ years of experience providing administrative tasks and office management
• 2+ years of proven leadership experience.
• Experience utilizing transportation management software systems, knowledge of DOT regulations and standards, and understanding of transportation logistics and planning is preferred.
• Experience using Salesforce, Preview, SPAK, and Steriwise, or similar systems is required.
• Experience with CORE and Intelligent Document Processing (IDP) is a plus.
• Experience in management of a shipping and receiving department is preferred.
• Experience in hazardous waste management is preferred.
• Understanding of the waste management industry is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Shipping: Ensure 24-hour advance notice calls to customers within assigned territories for next-day service; confirm any order changes.
• Receiving: Verify incoming shipments and oversee manifests and billing packets for the facility.
• Service Center Coordination: Manage 10-day log, reconcile reports, and maintain daily inventory and office supplies.
• Service center compliance: Review driver logs for DOT hours and notify supervisors of violations; maintain daily reports.
• Training & leadership: Coach direct reports, conduct performance appraisals, and support company goals and regulatory requirements.
• Recruitment: Participate in hiring of shipping and receiving employees.
• Meetings & information sharing: Conduct daily tailgates to keep teams informed of issues and changes.
• Safety & compliance: Stay updated on safety regulations and support initiatives.
