Job summary

STS Metals Inc is seeking a Shipping & Receiving Associate in Irwindale, CA to manage all incoming and outgoing material movements, documentation, and packaging. The role includes operation of forklifts, handling crates, and ensuring accurate delivery logs on a full-time schedule with potential weekend work.

Responsibilities include loading/unloading, preparing packing slips, maintaining a clean shipping area, and collaborating with Quality to resolve issues.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED preferred.
• Experience in shipping/receiving or warehouse operations preferred.
• Forklift certified or willing to become certified within 13 months of hire.
• Ability to read and interpret shipping documents, packing slips, and work orders.
• Basic math and measurement skills for counting and verification.

Responsibilities

• Count, weigh, measure, and verify materials for all shipments.
• Prepare and complete documentation including receivers, packing slips, and shipping labels.
• Package metal products and prepare materials for shipment.
• Build crates, pallets and boxes using hand tools.
• Operate forklifts and other equipment safely per regulations.
• Load and unload trucks and stage materials for shipment or storage.
• Follow safety protocols and wear PPE.
