Job Summary

The Shipping and Receiving Specialist is responsible for performing all shipping and receiving functions including administrative tasks to ensure order fulfillment, customer satisfaction, and inventory accuracy.

This role requires attention to detail, managing priorities, and maintaining organization. You will operate equipment such as reach trucks, drum pickers, and forklifts, and interact with employees, truck drivers, and handle warehousing and product movement responsibly, emphasizing safety, productivity, and quality.

Knowledge of HMIS / GHS, HAZMT regulations, and DOT Chemical handling is required.

Working Hours

07:00am – 03:30pm, Monday – Friday. Overtime depends on business needs.

Duties & Responsibilities

1. Coordinate with 3rd party logistics for freight and order flow management.
2. Assist drivers with labeling and placarding hazardous and non-hazardous shipments.
3. Maintain digital records with key identifiers.
4. Organize paperwork for orders and shipments.
5. Negotiate with vendors and carriers for freight pickups.
6. Manage freight unloading and sign-in processes.
7. Collect signatures for pickups as directed.
8. Operate warehouse software and equipment proficiently.
9. Load/unload trucks and ensure proper delivery documentation.
10. Communicate effectively with team members, vendors, and customers.
11. Participate in inventory and warehouse maintenance tasks.
12. Follow safety policies, PPE requirements, and handling procedures for chemicals.
13. Perform other duties as assigned and drive process improvements.
14. Maintain regular attendance.

Qualifications

1. Professional demeanor at all times.
2. 3+ years in manufacturing/distribution or shipping & receiving preferred.
3. Strong communication, numeracy, problem-solving, and software skills.
4. Ability to operate electronic equipment and lift 50 pounds safely.
5. Effective time management and physical stamina.

Education Requirements

High School Diploma or GED.

Work Environment

Enclosed facility with temperature variations, exposure to chemicals, noise, and varying environmental conditions.
