Job summary

Americold, a global cold chain logistics leader, seeks a Shipping and Receiving Associate in Belvidere, IL. You will manage records of inbound/outbound shipments, coordinate acceptance, delivery, and storage, and resolve issues related to damages, shortages, and nonconformance.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED (preferred) or 1 year in shipping/receiving, experience with Warehouse Management Systems and Microsoft Office, basic arithmetic, and comfort with calculators and office

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED preferred or minimum 1 year of work experience in shipping and receiving.
Experience with Warehouse Management Systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
Experience using calculators, desktop computers, and photocopiers.

Responsibilities

Coordinate with carriers to resolve damages, shortages, and nonconformance.
Arrange shipping and delivery of materials and determine optimal methods.
Examine shipment contents and verify against records such as manifests and invoices.
Prepare and maintain shipping documents including bills of lading.
Record and report shipment data (weights, charges, space, damages) for accounting.
Maintain correspondence with customers and document communications to resolve discrepancies.
Assist in answering phones and supporting warehouse operations as needed.
Other duties as assigned.
