Job summary

Americold is seeking a detail-oriented Warehouse Associate to manage inbound/outbound shipments, verify documents, and coordinate with carriers. You will use a Warehouse Management System and MS Office tools, handle records, and ensure accuracy and timeliness in a fast-paced distribution center.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED, basic math skills, and the ability to travel occasionally. This role offers a 4am start and a 5-days-on/2-days-off schedule in California.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred or 1 year shipping/receiving experience.
• Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
• Experience using calculators, desktop computers, and photocopiers.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with representatives and carriers to resolve damages, shortages, and nonconformance to specifications.
• Arrange shipping and delivery of materials and determine appropriate shipping methods based on procedures, routes, and rates.
• Examine shipment contents and verify accuracy against records such as manifests, invoices, or orders.
• Prepare and maintain shipping documents including work orders, bills of lading, and shipping orders.
• Record and report shipment data including weight, charges, space availability, damages, and discrepancies for accounting and recordkeeping.
• Maintain correspondence with customers and document all communications to resolve discrepancies.
• Provide assistance in answering telephones, resolving distribution center issues, and supporting warehouse operations as needed.
