Job summary

OSI Careers is seeking a Shipping & Receiving General Utility for 2nd shift (3:00 pm - 12:00 am) at our Oakland, IA facility. You will help move, store, and verify goods, supporting inventory accuracy and timely shipment and receipt of materials.

The role requires attention to detail, ability to operate pallet jacks or forklifts (certification preferred), and adherence to food safety standards and company policies. High school diploma required; 0–1 years in related work is welcome.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Load and unload trailers, pallets, and containers using equipment such as pallet jacks and forklifts (if certified).

• Label, store, and stage raw materials, packaging, and finished goods.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of shipping/receiving areas, warehouse, and storage locations.
• Assist in cycle counts and inventory reconciliation to ensure accuracy.
• Follow proper procedures for handling perishable, allergen, or hazardous items per safety regulations.
• Communicate discrepancies, damages, or inventory concerns to supervisors.
• Support production teams by transferring materials between departments as needed.

Description

Position Summary

Shipping & Receiving (S&R) General Utility is responsible for supporting the movement, storage, and handling of materials, ingredients, and finished goods within the facility. This role plays a key part in ensuring inventory accuracy, product quality, and timely shipment and receipt of goods. The individual performs a variety of general labor and warehouse-related tasks in accordance with food safety standards and company policies.

Experience & Skills

Preferred Education

Work can be performed within a manufacturing plant environment with noise, extreme temperatures, and significant movement of powered equipment, people and conveyor (may depend on the role).

Work conditions are typical of a food manufacturing facility.

This role does not require any domestic travel.

Position may require the physical agility of lifting up to 50 pounds

Position may require frequent and/or infrequent of bending, squatting, pushing, pulling, stretching/reaching, use hands or fingers, talk, hear, feel objects, tools, controls and standing/walking on concrete flooring.

Position may require the physical ability to stand/walk for Greater than 4 hours.
