Job summary

UFP Industries is seeking a Shipping and Receiving Clerk to coordinate inbound and outbound shipments from our Lansing, MI facility. You will prepare and review all shipping paperwork, arrange carrier pickups, and ensure accurate loading and routing in alignment with customer needs.

The role requires at least 6 months in shipping/receiving, basic Excel/Outlook skills, and knowledge of DOT regulations. Forklift licensing is preferred; the position includes maintaining records and providing timely

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least 6 months of shipping and receiving experience or related area.
• Working knowledge of DOT concepts, regulations, practices and procedures.
• Forklift operator licensing and safe handling knowledge preferred.
• Basic math for lumber grades and quantities.
• Proficiency with Excel, Word and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate outbound loads with sales and production and schedule shipments.
• Verify shipping documents and record discrepancies.
• Load shipments with carriers and provide delivery instructions.
• Ensure DOT paperwork compliance and company procedures.
• Document shortages or issues and inform sales/admin.
• Maintain shipment records and assist with loading/unloading as needed.
