Job summary

UFP Industries, Inc. is seeking a Shipping and Receiving Clerk to coordinate inbound and outbound shipments, schedule with drivers, and prepare shipment paperwork. The role emphasizes ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely loading/unloading of material.

The successful candidate will verify documents, maintain records, and assist with loading, while communicating effectively with internal teams to meet delivery timelines and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 6 months of shipping and receiving experience.
• Forklift certification or licensing preferred.
• Proficient in Excel, Word and Outlook.
• Working knowledge of DOT concepts, regulations and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate outbound loads and schedule with sales and production.
• Determine loading order and placement of product.
• Verify shipping documents and record discrepancies.
• Set up loads with outside freight carriers.
• Route orders and dispatch carrier with delivery instructions.
• Ensure paperwork meets Universal and DOT regulations.
• Document shortages and inform sales/admin.
• Handle tracing/expediting orders as needed.
• Maintain records for incoming and outgoing shipments.
• Assist with loading/unloading material when required.
• Prepare reports and correspondence.
• Demonstrate clear communication via email.
• Process shipping docs and coordinate with Production for inventory and readiness.
• Support Shipping and Receiving operations to meet objectives.
• Help coordinate inbound loads and appointments.
• Update YAM.
