SEPCO is a global sealing solutions provider based in Alabaster, Alabama. With a history of providing quality fluid and dry sealing components, SEPCO manufactures pump and valve packing, mechanical seals, gasket materials, high-performance plastics, air seals, and bearingisolators.

JOBSUMMARY

The Shipping Clerk is responsible for fulfilling orders, working both independently and on a team. Package all orders for customer deliveries, pick-ups and shipments. All product must be packaged securely and addressed properly in order to arrive at its destination timely intact and with nodamage.

ESSENTIALFUNCTIONS

• Accurately package, label, and weigh items to be shipped ensuring proper shipment method and shipping charges.
• Ensure all shipments receive the proper labeling and postal charges and are packaged to arrive safely.
• Prepare detailed and accurate invoices according to shipping procedures and ensure all items are packaged and shipped to company standards.
• Work with other shipping clerks to ensure all invoicing is handled properly and promptly.
• Demonstrate initiative, commitment to team work and enthusiasm for customer service.
• Schedule pickup and delivery of merchandise by common carriers.
• Track packages using computer system.
• Ensure work is done safely and meets quality standards.
• Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
• Take inventory at designated schedule times during the year.
• Perform additional duties as needed.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS INCLUDE, BUT NOT LIMITEDTO

• Must be physically able to perform work assigned.
• Ability to maintain a high level of physicality for prolonged periods of time and work primarily standing.
• The employee will be exposed to the following working conditions: heat and cold, noise, vibration, oils, atmospheric conditions such as dust.
• The employee will be required to perform the following actions: standing, walking, balancing, stooping, pushing, pulling, kneeling, bending, reaching, talking, seeing, hearing and sitting.
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds, as many packages and reels are large.

EXPERIENCE

Experience in a manufacturing/industrial environment, preferred. A minimum of 1-3 years of work experience involving shipping related tasks is preferred. Experience using personal computers and basic typing skills arerequired.

EDUCATION

High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred. Must be able to work a flexible schedule Monday-Friday and some weekends onoccasion.
