Job summary

SEPCO, Inc. in Alabaster, Alabama is seeking a Shipping Clerk to fulfill orders by packaging, labeling, weighing, and preparing invoices. You will work both independently and with teammates to ensure secure, accurate shipments to customers for delivery or pickup.

Key duties include scheduling carrier pickups, tracking packages, maintaining safety standards, and keeping work areas clean. Prior experience in a shipping/industrial setting is preferred along with basic computer skills.

• Must be able to operate a lift truck and forklift in a professional and safe manner.

Responsibilities

• Package, label, and weigh items for shipping with correct shipment method and charges.
• Ensure proper labeling and postal charges for safe arrival.
• Prepare accurate invoices per shipping procedures and ensure items are packaged to company standards.
• Collaborate with other shipping clerks to ensure invoicing is accurate and timely.
• Schedule pickups and deliveries with common carriers.
• Track packages using computer systems.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area and equipment.
• Perform additional duties as needed.
