Position Summary
The Shipping & Receiving Clerk is responsible for the administrative support needed to ensure efficient operations within the Williamsport, MD warehouse.
Essential Job Functions and Accountabilities
- Receive incoming shipments and verify quantities against packing slips, purchase orders, and shipping documentation.
- Inspect incoming materials for damage, defects, or discrepancies and report issues to management.
- Accurately enter receiving information into inventory management systems or company records.
- Label, sort, and store materials in designated warehouse locations.
- Maintain accurate records of received products and inventory transactions.
- Assist with inventory counts, audits, and reconciliation activities.
- Communicate shortages, overages, and damaged goods to appropriate personnel.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment as needed.
- Keep receiving and warehouse areas clean, organized, and safe.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
QualificationsKnowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Must be computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Microsoft Excel.
- Experience using MRP (Material Requirements Planning) systems for inventory tracking, receiving transactions, and material management.
- Experience using IFS ERP software for receiving, inventory management, and transaction processing preferred.
- Experience processing and tracking shipments using UPS WorldShip or similar shipping software.
- Ability to accurately enter, maintain, and retrieve data from company systems.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy when handling inventory and documentation.
- Ability to read and interpret packing slips, purchase orders, bills of lading, and receiving documentation.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with vendors, carriers, production personnel, and internal departments.
