Job summary

Commercial Metals Company is seeking an entry-level administrative/operations support role at our Knoxville facility. You will greet visitors, manage calls, and handle routine office tasks while supporting inventory and shipment preparation in a fast-paced industrial setting.

Applicants should have a High School Diploma or GED, and be comfortable using MS Excel/Outlook. SAP experience is a plus, with a strong emphasis on safety and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Must be able to work in a safety-conscious industrial environment with PPE.
• Experience using SAP is preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work in varying weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Greet visitors and answer plant calls as first impression.
• Perform basic office duties including calls, emails, and faxes.
• Assist in inventory of material.
• Prepare shipment paperwork and ensure order accuracy.
• Verify incoming shipments against documents.

What You'll Do

• Greet visitors, answer plant phone line, and represent the first impression of CMC
• Performing basic office duties like answering the telephone, directing calls, emails and fax.
• Assist in performing inventory on material
• Print tags on jobs for daily production
• Ensure bundle count and bundle tagging accuracy
• Verify incoming shipments by comparing items and quantities unloaded against bills of lading, invoices, manifests, storage receipts, etc.
• Tagging and flagging materials outside
• Preparing orders for shipment, complete all paperwork, and ensure accuracy of the order to ship

What You'll Need

• Ability to work in a safety conscious industrial environment including use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)
• Ability to use Elcometer to collect mil readings
• Ability to work in various types of weather conditions which include extreme heat and cold
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
• Able to take direction and complete tasks with minimum supervision
• Driven individual with honesty & integrity
• Knowledge of end-to-end accounts payable processes and best practices
• Ability to work as a team player in a fast-paced environment with strong work ethic, attention to detail, and organizational skills
• Ability to use MS Excel & MS Outlook
• Experience with SAP preferred

Your Education

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience is required
