Commercial Metals in Knoxville, TN is seeking a versatile administrative associate to greet visitors, answer calls, and support daily production tasks in a safety-focused plant environment.

You will assist with inventory, tagging, and shipment paperwork, while leveraging Excel, Outlook, and SAP to ensure accurate records and timely processing. This role emphasizes teamwork, reliability, and attention to detail in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience is required.
• Ability to work in a safety conscious industrial environment with PPE.
• Experience with MS Excel & MS Outlook; SAP preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet visitors and answer the plant phone line.
• Perform basic office duties: calls, emails, and faxes.
• Assist in inventory of material.
• Print tags on jobs for daily production.
• Ensure bundle count and tagging accuracy.
• Verify incoming shipments against documents.
• Tag materials outside and prepare orders for shipment with paperwork.

What You'll Do

• Greet visitors, answer plant phone line, and represent the first impression of CMC
• Performing basic office duties like answering the telephone, directing calls, emails and fax.
• Assist in performing inventory on material
• Print tags on jobs for daily production
• Ensure bundle count and bundle tagging accuracy
• Verify incoming shipments by comparing items and quantities unloaded against bills of lading, invoices, manifests, storage receipts, etc.
• Tagging and flagging materials outside
• Preparing orders for shipment, complete all paperwork, and ensure accuracy of the order to ship

What You'll Need

• Ability to work in a safety conscious industrial environment including use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)
• Ability to use Elcometer to collect mil readings
• Ability to work in various types of weather conditions which include extreme heat and cold
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
• Able to take direction and complete tasks with minimum supervision
• Driven individual with honesty & integrity
• Knowledge of end-to-end accounts payable processes and best practices
• Ability to work as a team player in a fast-paced environment with strong work ethic, attention to detail, and organizational skills
• Ability to use MS Excel & MS Outlook
• Experience with SAP preferred

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience is required
