Job summary

Commercial Metals Company (CMC) invites you to join a Fortune 500 leader in steel and construction reinforcement. This role involves maintaining a clean work area, operating production equipment, and supporting safety programs.

You will weigh materials, manage inbound/outbound shipments, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, while collaborating with a team to meet customer specs. We offer training, advancement opportunities, and competitive compensation to help you grow.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • 1 year experience in recycling/manufacturing preferred.
  • Basic MS Office skills.
  • Ability to work as a team in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains work area and equipment in a clean, orderly condition and follows safety regulations.
  • Operates production equipment in accordance with established procedures and guidelines.
  • Participates in the CMC Safety Programs and upholds the CMC Safety Culture.
  • Any other tasks as assigned by supervisor
  • Accurate identification of material to assign correct value
  • Assesses weigh materials, inbound & outbound, and directs into the appropriate process area, as well as price tickets
  • Coordinate and process scrap carrier's information upon pick-up and outbound of scrap
  • Identifies & weighs in-bound and out-bound metal shipments; provides quality customer service, and ensures customer specifications and contract requirements are fulfilled
  • Maintain accurate record keeping of all documents related to deliveries and shipments
  • Verify all purchases meet federal, state, and local regulatory requirements.

What You'll Need
  • Able to work as a team player in a fast-paced environment, with strong multitasking abilities, attention to detail, and organizational skills
  • Minimum 1 year experience in either recycling and/or manufacturing environment preferred
  • Prior knowledge of metal identification is a plus
  • Basic computer skills such as familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required
Your Education
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience preferred
