Qualifications

Responsibilities
  1. Perform all tasks in a safe manner.
  2. Observe plant and departmental safety rules and regulations.
  3. Comply with OSHA, DOT and Hazardous Material regulations pertaining to warehouse and trucking operations.
  4. Coordinate and schedule all incoming loads of materials and equipment.
  5. Coordinate and schedule all outgoing loads of finished goods, samples, and equipment to meet Berry requirements.
  6. Work with carriers to minimize freight costs.
  7. Receiving duties include but are not limited to:
  • Maintain a receiving schedule based on JDE expected receipts report.
  • Coordinate physical receipt moves (staging, locating).
  • JDE receipts of raw materials and MRO items.
  • PO receipts.
  • Customer returns.
  • Railcar receipts.
  • Shipping duties include but are not limited to:
    • Maintain a shipping schedule for open orders.
    • Release sales orders.
    • Maintain and distribute on-time shipping reports.
    • Track carrier performance and monitor outbound loads for on-time delivery.
    • Complete export paperwork.
    • Work with planning and customer service, carriers, customers, and vendors to resolve conflicts/problems.
    • Work with waste/scrap personnel to efficiently manage scrap loads.
    • Be responsible for First In – First Out inventory transactions.
    • Participate in cycle counts as required.
    • Be knowledgeable of handling procedures for all materials to prevent accidents.
    • Be responsible for warehouse housekeeping.
    • Assist with loading/unloading as required.
    • Verify, identify and inspect a wide variety of incoming materials, supplies, and finished goods from operations.
    • Be responsible for various inventory transactions using barcode scanner and/or computer system.
    • Prepare and/or assemble required shipping and receiving documents.
    • Be responsible for warehouse record retention.
    • Represent warehouse operations in audits as it relates to shipping/receiving paperwork and documentation.
    • Able to prepare all required documentation in a legible and complete manner.
    • Troubleshoot any material problems including inventory discrepancies, freight damage, contamination, packaging or handling issues.
    • Train others as required.
    • Ensure timely resolution for items returned to vendor or scrapped.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.
    • Qualifications
      • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.     • Education: High school diploma or GED required.
    • Experience: Minimum 1-3 years work-related experience preferred. 1-3 years of experience using MRP/ERP software. Forklift experience required.
    • Physical/Cognitive Requirements: Work is performed in an office environment and on the plant & warehouse floor with frequent contact with others. Requires prolonged sitting and frequent bending, stooping and stretching, manual dexterity, the ability to distinguish letters, occasional lifting up to 50 pounds, and the use of office equipment.
