Job summary

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Coordinate pickups and deliveries with trucking companies, customers, and internal teams.

• Assist with training new employees and support the Warehouse Manager.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Title: Shipping & Receiving Associate

Wage: $21.00-$24.00/hour

Shift: 1st

Hours: 6:00am-2:00pm, During busy season 5:00am-3:00pm

QPS Employment Group is hiring a Shipping & Receiving Associate for a company in Oconomowoc, WI. This is a potential to hire opportunity on 1st shift.

Shipping & Receiving Associate Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Accurately enter, review, and verify information using various computer systems and software
• Communicate with trucking companies, customers, and internal departments to coordinate pickups and deliveries
• Locate, pick, pack, stage, and move materials using appropriate material-handling equipment
• Load and unload delivery trucks safely and efficiently
• Maintain organized storage areas and ensure inventory is properly stored and accurately accounted for
• Perform cycle counts and complete supporting documentation to maintain inventory accuracy
• Assist with training new employees and provide appropriate feedback to the Warehouse Manager
• Participate proactively in continuous improvement initiatives
• Follow all established safety procedures and safe material-handling practices
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
• Perform other duties as assigned

Shipping & Receiving Associate Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED
• Previous experience in a warehouse or manufacturing environment
• Experience with shipping, receiving, inventory control, or material handling
• Ability to safely and efficiently operate forklifts, powered pallet jacks, and other material-handling equipment
• Computer proficiency, including experience with Excel, Bartender, SAP Business One, or similar systems

• Basic understanding of continuous improvement principles
• Strong mechanical aptitude
• Experience using a variety of hand tools
• Working knowledge of cycle counting and inventory accuracy procedures
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Work in a manufacturing and warehouse environment and regular activity on the shop floor
• Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods
• Frequently use hands to manipulate objects, tools, equipment, and controls
• Regularly bend, stoop, crouch, kneel, twist, and reach
• Ability to reach above shoulder level as needed
• Frequently lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance
• Ability to lift and move heavier materials, up to 100 pounds, with assistance and appropriate material-handling techniques
• May move materials short distances within the facility
• Close, distance, peripheral, and depth perception vision
• May work in varying seasonal temperatures and may occasionally be exposed to manufacturing fumes or by-products
• Must follow all facility PPE requirements, including safety glasses, hearing protection, appropriate gloves and clothing, and other protective equipment as required
• Safety-toe or closed-toe footwear may be required based on facility safety policies
• Some computer-based work may require periods of sitting and the ability to maintain close vision and adjust focus
• Occasional travel may be required
