Job summary

TreeHouse Foods is hiring a Shipping Operator for our Cedar Rapids facility. This full-time night shift (11 pm–7 am) role supports production by moving trailers, loading products, and ensuring accurate shipments.

Responsibilities

• Move trailers in and out of loading docks and scales; CDL class A required or training provided.
• Conduct yard checks daily and ensure safe operations.
• Load products into rail cars and trailers; ensure cleanliness and accuracy.
• Check shipment accuracy by matching items loaded with Shipping Orders.
• Direct placement of merchandise for balanced loads to minimize shifting during transport.
• Oversee palletizers, stretch wrappers, conveyors, and balers.
• Enter completed BOL data into Order Management Systems and print BOLs.
• Operate forklift and pallet jacks; maintain batteries and perform safety checks.

Shipping Operator - Cedar Rapids, Iowa

About the Role:

The Shipping Operator role at the Cedar Rapids location provides support to the Production team, driving and supporting key initiatives to improve performance throughout the plant. You'll add value to this role by performing various functions including, but not limited to:

• Moves trailers in and out of loading docks and scales. Must obtain and maintain valid CDL class A License (Company will provide training to obtain CDL license).
• Conduct yard check daily.
• Load products into rail cars and truck trailers, assuring cars and trailers are sanitary.
• Check accuracy of shipment by comparing items loaded against items listed on Shipping Order.
• Direct placement of merchandise for balanced load to minimize shifting during transportation.
• Oversee operation of palletizers, stretch wrapper, conveyor systems and scrap balers.
• Enter information for completed BOL's into Order Management Systems and prints BOL's.
• Operate Fork Truck and Pallet Jacks in a safe manner. Maintain forklift batteries and charging / changing out as needed. Complete safety checklist each shift.
• Must be able to access information from computers and provide computer data entry

Important Details:

This is a full-time permanent role on Night shift (11 pm to 7 am). Shift differential included. Pay currently starts at $30.00 per hour + shift differential.
