Job summary

TreeHouse Foods in Cedar Rapids, IA is seeking a Shipping Operator to support the Production team. You will move trailers, load products, check shipments, and manage BOLs while operating forklifts and maintaining safety.

This full-time Night shift role (11 pm–7 am) offers a shift differential. Experience with CDL Class A and forklift operations is preferred; overtime and weekend work may be required.

Qualifications

• Experience following instructions and process documents.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience in manufacturing or food manufacturing is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Move trailers in/out of loading docks and scales; obtain/maintain CDL Class A.
• Conduct daily yard checks.
• Load products into rail cars and trailers; ensure sanitation of cars/trailers.
• Verify shipment accuracy against Shipping Orders.
• Direct placement of merchandise for balanced loads.
• Oversee palletizers, stretch wrappers, conveyors and balers.
• Enter completed BOL data into OMS and print BOLs.
• Operate forklift and pallet jacks; maintain batteries; perform safety checks.
• Access information from computers and perform data entry.

Job Description:

Shipping Operator - Cedar Rapids, Iowa

About the Role:

The Shipping Operator role at the Cedar Rapids location provides support to the Production team, driving and supporting key initiatives to improve performance throughout the plant. You'll add value to this role by performing various functions including, but not limited to:

• Moves trailers in and out of loading docks and scales. Must obtain and maintain valid CDL class A License (Company will provide training to obtain CDL license).
• Conduct yard check daily.
• Load products into rail cars and truck trailers, assuring cars and trailers are sanitary.
• Check accuracy of shipment by comparing items loaded against items listed on Shipping Order.
• Direct placement of merchandise for balanced load to minimize shifting during transportation.
• Oversee operation of palletizers, stretch wrapper, conveyor systems and scrap balers.
• Enter information for completed BOL's into Order Management Systems and prints BOL's.
• Operate Fork Truck and Pallet Jacks in a safe manner. Maintain forklift batteries and charging / changing out as needed. Complete safety checklist each shift.
• Must be able to access information from computers and provide computer data entry

Important Details:

This is a full-time permanent role on Night shift (11 pm to 7 am). Shift differential included. Pay currently starts at $30.00 per hour + shift differential.
