Job summary

Carlisle Construction Materials is seeking a proactive Shipping & Receiving Supervisor/Manager to lead daily logistics operations in Lakeland, FL. You will plan manpower, manage deliveries, and ensure DOT compliance while coordinating with production teams to align scheduling with capacity deadlines.

The role requires strong negotiation skills, experience with SAP or similar systems, and a track record of staff development in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• DOT regulations and logistics knowledge.
• Experience loading products and coordinating efficient routes.
• Proficient with computer systems and SAP experience.
• Strong problem solving and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent organization and verbal/written communication.
• Strong time management and follow-up skills.
• Solid math and reading comprehension.

Responsibilities

• Develop daily manpower plan and daily delivery schedule.
• Prepare shipping documents accurately (bill of ladings, labels, pick tickets, etc.).
• Conduct rate negotiations with carrier sales and audit performance.
• Follow up on freight claims, late deliveries, and billing discrepancies.
• Approve freight invoices and related shipping fees.
• Hire, train, supervise, and evaluate department drivers.
• Ensure drivers are trained, licensed, tested, and certified as required by law.
• Schedule maintenance for trailers and tractors to comply with DOT regulations.
• Conduct daily, monthly, and annual vehicle inspections.
• Enforce signatures, dates, times and route/dispatch paperwork.
• Monitor driver/vehicle electronic logs and payroll timesheets bi-weekly; follow up incidents.
• Manage budget and expenditures appropriately.
• Facilitate regular staff and DOT safety meetings.
• Understand and perform shipping clerk/dispatch duties as needed.
• Conduct yearly performance and goal objectives for drivers, shipping, and staff.
• Maintain safety programs and transportation records for BIT inspections.
• Monitor operations for policy and safety compliance.
• Maintain organized shipping yard.
• Interface with production supervisors to align delivery with production.
• Ensure pre/post vehicle checks and E-log submissions.
• Perform related duties as required.
