Job summary

EMI Industries in Cranston, RI, is seeking a Shipping Supervisor to oversee daily shipping and receiving operations. You will supervise staff, schedule inbound/outbound trucks, coordinate carriers, and ensure accuracy and safety in all procedures, including documentation and pallet handling.

Work closely with Production Planning, Quality, and Logistics to meet delivery commitments, improve dock utilization, and maintain records. OSHA guidelines and ERP usage are part of the role.

Qualifications

• Experience supervising shipping/receiving or warehouse staff.
• Hands-on truck scheduling and carrier coordination experience.
• Knowledge of shipping docs and freight processes.
• Familiar with OSHA safety requirements and safe operations.
• Proficient data entry and ERP/WMS navigation.
• Strong organization, communication, and multitasking abilities.
• Reliable, with shift flexibility and overtime availability.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily shipping/receiving activities, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Schedule inbound/outbound truck shipments and coordinate carriers.
• Serve as primary contact for carriers and resolve issues promptly.
• Review shipping documentation for accuracy before release.
• Monitor outputs against schedules and address bottlenecks.
• Coordinate with Production Planning and Materials to align schedules.
• Enforce safety policies and train staff on equipment use.
• Maintain records and reconcile discrepancies with Inventory/QC.
• Track attendance and coordinate with HR on related matters.
• Support process improvements to reduce errors and improve dock use.
