Job summary

Group CBS in Seymour, CT is seeking a motivated Shipping & Receiving Supervisor to oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring inbound and outbound shipments are processed accurately, safely, and on time. You will lead a small team, coordinate tasks, train associates, and enforce DOT/OSHA safety regulations while maintaining a clean, compliant working area in line with 5S standards.

The role requires 1–2 years of shipping/receiving experience, a high school diploma or GED, and proficiency with MS

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of experience in shipping, receiving, warehouse, or manufacturing.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and WMS/ERP systems.
• Ability to read and interpret shipping documents and packing lists.
• Knowledge of safety regulations and 5S standards.

Responsibilities

• Oversee inbound and outbound shipments, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Verify shipments against POs, bills of lading, and packing slips.
• Inspect incoming materials for damage and compliance.
• Prepare shipping documents, manifests, and labels.
• Schedule pickups with carriers and couriers.
• Lead, train, and mentor a small team of associates.
• Conduct pre-shift meetings and monitor performance.
• Ensure DOT/OSHA compliance and maintain 5S compliant workspace.
• Report discrepancies and damaged goods to management.
