Job summary

EMI Industries is seeking a Shipping Supervisor to oversee the day-to-day shipping/receiving operations. You will supervise staff, schedule inbound and outbound truck shipments, coordinate with carriers, and ensure accuracy of shipping documents while maintaining safety standards on the dock.

You will work closely with Production Planning, Quality, and Project Management to meet delivery commitments, enforce safety policies, and drive continuous improvement in dock utilization and scheduling.

Qualifications

• Supervision of shipping/receiving staff in a manufacturing/distribution setting.
• Experience with truck scheduling, carrier coordination, and dock/appointment management.
• Familiarity with shipping docs (bills of lading, packing lists) and carrier processes.
• OSHA safety standards knowledge and commitment to safe operations.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily shipping/receiving activities to ensure accuracy, safety, and on-time performance.
• Schedule inbound/outbound truck shipments; coordinate with carriers and docks.
• Serve as main contact for carriers; resolve delays and service issues.
• Verify shipping documentation for accuracy prior to release.
• Monitor shipments against production and customer delivery schedules; address bottlenecks.
• Coordinate with Production Planning and Materials to align schedules with priorities.
