Job summary

American Food Service is seeking a Shipping Clerk to monitor, process and record outgoing deliveries in a warehouse setting. The role involves coordinating pickers, directing drivers, and ensuring accurate shipping through RF scanning. A safety-focused mindset and attention to detail are essential.

Responsibilities include assigning orders, tracking picker efficiency, communicating shortages, and maintaining staging and loading accuracy while supporting general warehouse tasks as required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret safety rules and procedures.
• Experience in warehouse preferred; RF scanner experience a plus.
• Strong communication and teamwork with self-motivation.

Responsibilities

• Assigns orders to warehouse pickers and monitors efficiency.
• Direct delivery drivers to correct receiving bays.
• Operate scanners to ensure correct picking, packing and shipping.
• Monitor staging areas and notify shortages to purchasing.
• Create load sheets for packers/shippers and maintain safety standards.
• Perform general warehouse duties as needed.
