Job summary

Oldcastle BuildingEnvelope is seeking a Shipping Loader/Unloader to prepare products for delivery. The role reports to the Shipping and Receiving Supervisor and suits someone who thrives in a fast-paced setting with good attendance and some mechanical skills.

Starting pay is $20 per hour. Responsibilities include loading/unloading, packing, labeling, weighing, clerical tasks, and quality inspections to meet specifications.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Ability to read, understand, and communicate.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize with deadlines; overtime when required.
• Work performed inside a production environment.
• Lift up to 75 lbs unassisted.
• Stand for 8-10 hours per day on a concrete floor.
• Noise levels can be moderate to high.
• Plant climate conditions similar to the region.

Responsibilities

• On/off loading of glass from tables, rolling racks, delivery trucks, or wood crates for eight or more hours daily.
• Assembling boxes, crates, or containers.
• Labeling and marking containers and insert lining or padding material to protect items during shipment.
• Weighing, measuring and counting product.
• Packing items according to shipping needs or supervisors' specifications, ensuring crates/boxes and packages are accurately packed.
• Completing clerical tasks with the ability to use shop floor computer and RF equipment.
• Conducting inspections to examine products and ensure they meet specifications for quality and aren't damaged.
