Job summary

Oldcastle BuildingEnvelope is seeking a Shipping Loader/Unloader to prepare products for delivery. You will report to the Shipping and Receiving Supervisor in a fast-paced production setting and should bring reliable attendance and some mechanical aptitude. Starting pay is $20 per hour.

Responsibilities include loading/unloading glass, boxing crates, labeling, weighing, packing, clerical tasks with RF equipment, and quality inspections to meet specifications. 18+ and able to lift 75 lbs required.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Ability to read, understand, and communicate.
• Ability to stand 8-10 hours per day on a concrete floor.
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs unassisted.
• Work performed inside a production environment.

• On/off loading of glass from tables, rolling racks, delivery trucks, or wood crates for eight or more hours daily.
• Assembling boxes, crates, or containers.
• Labeling and marking containers and insert padding material to protect items during shipment.
• Weighing, measuring and counting product.
• Packing items according to shipping needs or supervisor specifications.
• Completing clerical tasks with the ability to use shop floor computer and RF equipment.
• Conducting inspections to examine products and ensure they meet specifications.

What You’ll Get to Do

The Shipping Loader/Unloader is focused on preparing our products for delivery and reports to the Shipping and Receiving Supervisor. This role is perfect for an individual who has the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, has excellent attendance and some mechanical skills.

Starting pay is $20 per hour.

Job responsibilities include:

• On/off loading of glass from tables, rolling racks, delivery trucks, or wood crates for eight or more hours daily
• Assembling boxes, crates, or containers
• Labeling and marking containers and insert lining or padding material to protect items during shipment
• Weighing, measuring and counting product
• Packing items according to shipping needs or supervisors' specifications, ensuring that the crates/boxes and packages are accurately packed
• Completing clerical tasks with the ability to use shop floor computer and RF equipment
• Conducting inspections to examine products and make sure they meet our specifications for quality and aren't damaged

What We Are Looking For

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Ability to read, understand, and communicate
• Ability to work independently and prioritize work with deadlines; ability to work overtime when required
• Work performed inside a production environment
• Ability to lift up to 75lbs unassisted
• Ability to stand on your feet for 8-10 hours per day on a concrete floor
• Noise levels in the work environment can be moderate to high
• The plant facility is subject to the same climate conditions of the region (heat, cold, humidity, etc.)
