Job summary

Austin Industrial is seeking a Shipping Lead to assist the Area Coordinator in directing shipping personnel and ensuring efficient, safe operations across shipping and loading activities.

The role requires 3-5 years in an industrial setting, ability to pass safety exams (DOT/OSHA), and readiness to perform a variety of loading tasks with strong emphasis on safety and quality. Excellent benefits accompany employment.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience in an industrial setting preferred.
• Must pass pre-employment physical, drug screening, and background check.
• Must pass DOT, OSHA and Process Safety Management written exams.

Responsibilities

• Directs shipping personnel and assigns work based on qualifications.
• Enforces safety regulations and issues permits with Coordinator’s approval.
• Performs minor maintenance and directs maintenance personnel to equipment.
• Fills in as Material Handler and operates truck/rail loading and related tasks.
• Trains new personnel and writes work orders or reports equipment problems.
• Monitors product quality, maintains housekeeping, and ensures safe loading operations.
