Job summary

Atkore in Cartersville, GA is seeking a Shipping Lead for the 1st shift (7:00am–3:30pm, Monday–Friday). You will supervise shipping and receiving activities, coordinate subordinates, and ensure safety and quality in a fast-paced environment.

The role involves loading, labeling, stocking materials, and processing shipments, with lean manufacturing experience a plus. You’ll contribute to continuous improvement while adhering to PPE and safety controls.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Two years of shipping/receiving experience or equivalent combination of experience/education.
• Ability to read tape measure.
• Ability to work Monday-Friday shifts and stand for 10 hours in a non-climate-controlled environment.
• Must be willing to work overtime as needed.
• Knowledge of safety practices; record-keeping preferred.
• Lean manufacturing or business-system environment experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the activities of subordinates.
• Load material onto trucks in a safe manner.
• Maintain inventory by identifying, labeling, and placing materials and supplies in stock.
• Locates materials and supplies by pulling and verifying materials listed on production orders.
• Maintains in-process inventory at work centers by delivering and opening materials and supplies.
• Documents materials and supplies disposition by recording units delivered and location of units.
• Prepare finished stock for shipment by identifying, pulling, packing, crating, loading, and securing product.
• Documents product shipment by recording units shipped.
