Job summary

SEMO Milling, LLC invites applications for a Shipping Lead in Scott City, MO. The role requires a valid Class A CDL and active DOT Medical Card, with a $3/hour CDL increase for active status. You will manage shipping, load-out, inventory, and sanitation while upholding safety and quality standards.

Reporting to the Operations Supervisor, you will support production schedules, monitor KPIs, and participate in continuous improvement initiatives. Minimum high school diploma or GED required.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver's license and either have or be willing to obtain a Class A CDL, at SEMO Milling's expense.
• Shipping/bulk loading experience preferred.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Must possess DOT Medical Card and maintain acceptable driving record.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.

Responsibilities

• Execute the shipping process as directed by the Operations Supervisor.
• Maintain packaging, load-out and mill production schedules.
• Participate in daily inventory processes and sanitation tasks.
• Ensure quality and safety regulations are followed in all duties.
• Utilize IMS and SPC data to monitor performance and quality.

Semo Milling, LLC has an excellent opportunity for a Shipping Lead!

MUST have a valid driver's license and either have or be willing to obtain a Class A CDL, at our expense. $3.00/hour increase with active and valid Class A CDL!!

I. Position Purpose

Reporting to the Operations Supervisor, this position is responsible for the execution of the plant predetermined load-out schedule, plant sanitation, material handling and general support of operations.

II. Position Responsibilities and Duties

Performing duties as directed by others to ensure the following duties are managed accurately and processed in a timely manner:

Shipping Responsibilities

• Execute the shipping process as directed by the Operations Supervisor
• Ensuring adherence to packaging, load-out and mill production schedules.
• Partake in inventory process on daily basis.
• Facility Sanitation.
• Utilizing good manufacturing processes.
• Prime product and hominy load-out.
• Monitor key indicator for quality, productivity, and utilization.
• Utilize the IMS and SPC where applicable.
• Responsible for quality of work within area.
• Maintain work environment in a clean and orderly fashion inspection ready at all times.
• Actively engage in continuous improvement programs such as SOP’s.

Quality, Safety and Sanitation

• Follow all Personnel Safety policies/procedures, including the use of proper PPE, as well as ensure the safe use of required tools and equipment
• Follow all Food Safety, Quality Assurance, GMP's, Sanitation and general plant policies/procedures
• Inspect products for overall appearance according to customer and QA/Food Safety requirements and communicate with supervisor when non-conforming products are present
• Communicate all safety or environmental issues to supervisors/managers
• At end of shift, secure all equipment, perform general housekeeping duties
• Complete necessary paperwork for documenting process parameters and recordkeeping requirements
• Ensure all regulatory compliance.
• Ensure proper training and adherence to area SOP’s.
• Assist with evaluating the performance of subordinates.
• Create a team working environment.
• Develop key indicators to measure quality and productivity.

Open Communications to be a team player and do other tasks as necessary.

This position actively engages in daily operations and is engaged in supporting policies and procedures in accordance with the company Vision, Values, and Strategic Objectives.

• High School Diploma or GED

Related Experience:

• Shipping/bulk loading experience preferred
• Team oriented
• Must possess or be willing and able to obtain a valid class A CDL, DOT Medical Card, and an acceptable driving record

IV. Physical and Mental Requirements

This position requires physical and mental alertness, attentiveness and stamina for the length of an entire 8-12 hour work shift each day. Occasional to frequent lifting of 50-100 pounds, frequent changing from a seated to standing position and occasional to frequent stair climbing are all physical demands of this position. This working environment for this position will include occasional to frequent work in both extreme cold and hot weather conditions. This is not a supervisor position but does require leadership skills to help ensure supervisors instructions are being followed.
