Job summary

SEMO Milling in Scott City, Missouri, is seeking a Maintenance Electrician to maintain all electrical aspects of the milling operation at our facility. The role reports to the Maintenance Manager and requires hands-on electrical work, safety compliance, and teamwork.

You will install, repair, and test wiring and control equipment, read schematics and blueprints, and ensure all work meets code and QA standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 2 years vocational electrical training and classes.
• Minimum 5 years industrial electrical experience.
• Team oriented and safety conscious.

Responsibilities

• Plans layout, installs, and repairs wiring on electrical fixtures, motors, and control equipment.
• Plans new or modified installations to minimize material waste.
• Follows schematics or blueprints to ensure wiring is installed correctly and to code.
• Connects wiring to lighting fixtures, switches, relays, circuit breakers, and panel boards.
• Test continuity of circuits for safety and compatibility.
• Operate multi meters, ohmmeters, and amp meters.
• Troubleshoot electrical components and systems.
• Maintain clean and orderly work area.

SEMO Milling has an exciting opportunity for a Maintenance Electrician at our facility in Scott City, Missouri!

I. Position Purpose

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, this position is responsible for helping with and maintaining all electrical aspects of the milling operation.

II. Position Responsibilities and Duties

• Plans layout, installs, and repairs wiring on electrical fixtures, motors, and control equipment
• Plans new or modified installations to minimize waste of materials
• Prepares sketches showing location of wiring and equipment, or follows schematics or blueprints to ensure that the wiring is installed correctly and to code
• Connects wiring to lighting fixtures, switches, relays, circuit breakers, motor control centers, power distribution panels, and switch gear
• Test continuity of circuits to ensure electrical compatibility and safety of components
• Operate multi meters, ohmmeters, and amp meters
• Troubleshoot electrical components and systems
• Utilize the IMS and SPC where applicable
• Responsible for quality of work within area and efficient use of time
• Maintain work environment in a clean and orderly fashion

Quality, Safety and Sanitation

• Follow all Personnel Safety policies/procedures, including the use of proper PPE, as well as ensure the safe use of required tools and equipment
• Follow all Food Safety, Quality Assurance, GMP's, Sanitation and general plant policies/procedures
• Inspect products for overall appearance according to customer and QA/Food Safety requirements and communicate with supervisor when non-conforming products are present
• Communicate all safety or environmental issues to supervisors/managers
• At end of shift, secure all equipment, perform general housekeeping duties
• Complete necessary paperwork for documenting process parameters and recordkeeping requirements

Education Level: High School Diploma or GED

IV. Physical and Mental Requirements

This position requires physical and mental alertness, attentiveness and stamina for the length of an entire 8-12 hour work shift each day. Occasional to frequent lifting of 50-100 pounds, frequent changing from a seated to standing position and occasional to frequent stair climbing are all physical demands of this position. This working environment for this posi tion will include occasional to frequent work in both extreme cold and hot weather conditions.
