Job summary

Premier Packaging is seeking a Shipping Lead to back up the Shipping Supervisor, coordinate carrier schedules, and optimize inter-warehouse transfers. The role focuses on timely load planning, driver conduct, and accuracy of shipping documentation in a fast-paced corrugated manufacturing environment.

You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure on-time deliveries, maintain customer satisfaction standards, and contribute to process improvements and quality control initiatives.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years experience as forklift operator in a manufacturing or warehouse setting.
• Experience with different types of forklifts (sit-down, stand-up, clamp).
• Knowledge of safety regulations related to forklift operation.
• Familiarity with handling and transporting materials within a corrugated manufacturing environment is a plus.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Back up for Shipping Supervisor when needed.
• Receives and reviews daily load schedule for completeness, load arrangement, and dock times.
• Coordinates carrier coordination for LTL and full-load outs; manages claims when necessary.
• Oversees inter-warehouse transfer of raw materials, WIP, and finished goods.
• Adheres to daily operating agreements between departments.
• Participates in process-improvement teams, CAR responses, and quality control initiatives.
• Maintains understanding of customer satisfaction criteria for various clients.
• Oversees and enforces good driver conduct.
• Examines Manning boards and vacation schedules to ensure coverage.
• Responsible for accurate paperwork, bills of ladings, and completeness of transactions.
