Job summary

CMC is hiring a forklift operator in Sayreville, NJ. You will operate a forklift to move materials, assist crane operators, and ensure safe, efficient production. This role requires physical stamina, rotating shifts that may include weekends, and overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• Forklift experience preferred.
• Dependable attendance and flexibility for business needs.
• Rotating shift that may include weekends and holidays.
• Ability to work overtime, both planned and unplanned.
• Tolerance for extremes in temperature, chemicals, dust, fumes, uneven surfaces, loud noise, elevated work areas, and confined spaces.
• Strong teamwork, work ethic, attention to detail, and organizational skills.
• Capability to learn quickly and multitask.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate a forklift to move material and supplies as required.
• Provide assistance to overhead crane operators.
• Load finished product bundles onto a flatbed trailer correctly.
• Fill out equipment inspection reports each shift.
• Work safely to prevent on‑the‑job injuries by following safety rules and wearing company PPE.
• Participate in CMC Safety Programs and uphold a safety culture.
• Suggest improvements in work methods and procedures for continuous improvement.
• Perform daily housekeeping duties in the work area.
• Troubleshoot work‑related problems using job knowledge and communication with others.
• Understand startup, shutdown, and emergency procedures.
• Communicate effectively about production issues, concerns, and needs.
