Job summary

Besser Company in Alpena, Michigan seeks a Shipping Clerk to fulfill orders, prepare shipping documents, and manage storeroom inventory. You’ll ensure accurate shipments and smooth material flow at the shipping dock and storeroom.

Responsibilities include verifying orders, loading/unloading materials, and maintaining records for damage claims. Proficiency with Excel/Word/Outlook and carrier software is required, with experience in Epicor a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least one year of experience in storeroom and shipping.
• Proficient in Excel, Word, and Outlook; familiar with UPS WorldShip or other shipping software; Epicor.
• Must know customs requirements for the countries served.
• Capable of lifting up to 40 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Fills interplant and customer orders, loading/unloading materials for inside/outside warehouses.
• Works with stock pick lists, shop receiving documents, and vendor receiving docs.
• Checks products against shipping orders for accuracy and correct materials.
• Uses packing materials and prepares bills of lading/dray tickets; files documents.
• Posts shipments to orders, marks as shipped, and forwards docs to finance.
• Maintains storeroom inventory with stock adjustments and pick lists; fixes errors.
• Counts parts and investigates adjustments; collects damage-claim information.
• Assigns proper bin locations and prints sales orders/pick lists.
