Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; obtain the required regulatory qualifications and FAS training to perform the general functions of the role.
• Minimum one (1) year of shipping experience providing a basic knowledge of logistics terminology, policies, and procedures.
• Must be fluent in spoken and written English; Spanish a plus.
• Position requires working knowledge in general software applications including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Prepares items for shipment and arranges shipment by the most appropriate method considering urgency, customer requirements, and contents of the shipment.
• Arranges shipment by mail or major freight carriers.
• Prepares bills of lading and other shipment documents; identifies contents and hazardous materials.
• Makes database entries related to shipping activities.
• Utilizes proper packaging methods; assembles non-standard crates/boxes as needed.
• Maintains supply of shipping materials and keeps area clean and organized.
• Performs reverse logistics and other duties as assigned.
• Drives a golf cart or truck to make pickups and deliveries as necessary.
• Follows safety procedures and uses appropriate safety equipment.
• Completes required documentation thoroughly and legibly.
• Files documents per company policies.
