The Shipping Coordinator II is responsible for scheduling and preparing all outbound shipments and related documents. This position follows Hammerton’s shipping guidelines and procedures to determine what is ready to ship and how it will ship. The Shipping Coordinator II answers expedite requests and shipping questions from our Sales and Production departments in a timely manner.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Monitor and evaluate the Shipping Form to determine what is ready to ship.
• Able to identify, solve, and communicate complex issues as they arise.
• Able to identify and follow shipping procedures/guidelines.
• Schedule and prepare shipping documents, including some International shipments (5%)
• Physically pull, stage and label boxes, pallets, and crates for our carrier pick up.
• Ensure packages and proper paperwork are picked up by shipping carrier.
• Issue return tags and coordinate returns as needed.
• Help load and unload trucks.
• Communicate issues with Sales and Production Team effectively.
• Must be able to maintain a safe and efficient 25,000 square foot Warehouse using 5S.
• Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2-5 years of experience in Shipping required.
• International Shipping experience preferred but not required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must be able to use critical thinking skills to solve problems.
• Must be able to lift and move boxes up to 70 lbs.
• Must be Forklift Certified.
• Must be able to follow directions and work with limited supervision.
• Must be able to communicate clearly in person, over the phone, and in writing.
• Must be able to think clearly and react quickly in a high pace environment.
• Must be able to record and maintain accurate data records.
• Must show great attention to detail.
• Basic Excel and Access skill required.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

• Majority of time spent in office setting – 75%
• Also required to work in a warehouse setting when preparing orders – 20%
• Occasional travel to Hammerton’s primary location (217 N Wright Brothers) - 5%
