Job summary

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Wrap glass and fragile items with bubble wrap and packing materials.
• Prepare and mark hardware; ensure all parts are accounted for.
• Photograph items to document proper packing.
• Complete paperwork to track orders.
• Organize boxes for efficiency.
• Use expanding foam system for small product packing.
• Plan workflow to maximize packing output.
• Build large crates from 2x4s and plywood for larger fixtures.
• Brace and secure products in crates or boxes.
• Assist in training new team members.

The Packaging Technician position is responsible for basic to complex packaging of company products. This position will also build packaging structures when necessary.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Wrapping glass and other fragile items in bubble wrap and other packing material.
• Prepping and marking hardware and ensuring all parts are accounted for.
• Taking photos to document all parts are present and packed properly.
• Completing paperwork as assigned to ensure all orders are properly tracked.
• Organizing boxes for better efficiency.
• Using our expanding foam system to properly pack our smaller products in boxes.
• Planning and scheduling out workflow to ensure maximum amount of product is packed.
• Building large crates out of 2x4s and plywood for our larger fixtures.
• Bracing and securing products into large crates or boxes.
• Assist in training new team members when needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

• High School Diploma or GED preferred but not required.
• 1 years of experience in similar position preferred but not required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Experience using Power Tools, Hand Tools, etc.
• Works well as a member of a team.
• Demonstrated ability to show high attention to detail.
• Ability to stand for 8 hours every day.
• Ability to perform a variety of tasks and being able to change assignments or direction on short notice.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

• Able to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms for 8 hours per day.
• Able to lift 50 pounds to shoulder level.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
• This position works primarily in a manufacturing plant environment with dust and moderate to high noise level.
