Job summary

New Life Transport Parts Center in Michigan is seeking a Shipping Coordinator to pull, pack, and load goods for on-time delivery. This role handles small parcel orders, CPU and some LTL orders, coordinating with internal teams, carriers, and customers to ensure smooth shipping operations.

You will prepare shipping documents, monitor delays, and maintain accuracy with warehouse records. The position is full-time, Monday–Friday, 5:00pm–1:30am, paying $20 per hour, with benefits and growth

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 3–5 years of warehouse experience required.
  • Experience operating forklift and electric pallet jack.
  • Able to read/write, perform basic math and use a ruler/tape measure.
  • Basic computer skills and shipping software familiarity.

Responsibilities

  • Process customer orders for shipment, ensuring items are picked, packed, loaded, and shipped per policy.
  • Prepare shipping documents: labels, packing slips, and invoices.
  • Ensure on-time shipping and address delays or issues.
  • Identify short picks and escalate as necessary.
  • Coordinate with warehouse, inventory teams and carriers to match records.
  • Follow USMCA export shipment requirements.

Job Overview

The Shipping Coordinatoris responsible foraccurately pulling,packingand loading goods for shipment for an on-time delivery with minimal oversight. This role primarily fillssmall parcel orders,basic pick-up(CPU)ordersand some less-than-truck-load(LTL)orders. This role involves coordinating with internal teams, carriers, and customers to ensure smooth and efficient shipping operations.

Shifts Available

This position is full-time, Monday - Friday, 5:00pm - 1:30am, $20.00/hr.

Responsibilities and Duties
ShippingProcess
  • Processcustomer orders for shipment, ensuring that all items are picked, packed,loadedand shippedin accordance withcompany policies and customer requirements.
  • Prepare shipping documentation, including shipping labels, packing slips,andinvoicing.
  • Ensure that all orders are shipped out on time,monitoringany delays or issues that arise andescalatingthemas necessary.
  • Identifyshort picks andescalateas necessary.
  • Identifyproduct discrepancies and communicate with management.
  • Perform basic tasks within the enterprise resource planning tool, UPS WorldShip, FedEx FreightManagerand FreightView.
  • Assessed by performance measures of fill rate and accuracy rate.
  • Follow export shipment requirements under theUnited States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA).
Quality Control
  • Workclosely with the warehouse and inventory teams to ensure that shipped items match inventory records.
  • Perform properpackaging of products to prevent damage during transit and ensure all items are labeled correctly for shipping, including the use of barcodes and tracking numbers.
  • Assist with regular cycle counts or stock audits as needed to maintain inventory accuracy.
Work Environment
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
  • Maintain cleanliness within the warehouse facility.
  • Seek guidance from other warehouse associates to expand knowledge of shipping and warehouse operations.
  • Follow the attendance policyin accordance withthe company’s employee handbook.
  • Communicate effectively and efficiently with other warehouse associates and customers on shipments.
Safety
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, including hazardous materials handling and safety standards.
  • Safelyoperatevarious pieces of equipment, such as electric pallet jack, wave (man lift), Taylor Dunn (stock chaser)and Forklift.
  • Successfully complete the Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) training.
  • Successfully complete the Hazardous Materials training.
  • Comply withall other company safety policies and procedures.

Safety & Compliance

Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies during receiving, storage, and material handling processes. Safely operate powered industrial equipment such as pallet jacks and lifts, follow proper unloading protocols, and successfully complete required safety training, including PIT certification.

Competencies and Qualifications
  • High School Diploma, GED, or suitable equivalent required.
  • A minimum of3-5years ofwork experience in a warehouse environmentrequired.
  • Experience operating warehouse equipment such as a forklift and electric pallet jackrequired.
  • Comfortable working in a heavy-duty warehouse environment.
  • Knowledge of safety standards in a warehouse environment.
  • Ability to read and write and perform simple mathematics.
  • Ability to use and understand a ruler and/or tape measurer.
  • Basic computer skills such as file storage, control panel navigation,internetand email utilization.
  • Ability to work with a diverse range of people.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communicationskills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficient organizational skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift and carry 75lbs.individually and up to 100lbs.with other associates.
