NEW LIFE TRANSPORT PARTS CENTER is seeking a Shipping Coordinator in Byron Township, MI. The role focuses on accurately pulling, packing and loading goods for on-time deliveries, primarily small parcel orders and CPU/LTL orders.

Shift is full-time, Mon–Fri, 5:00pm–1:30am, $20.00/hr, with comprehensive benefits. The position requires forklift certification, 1–4 years warehouse experience, and strong attention to detail.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or suitable equivalent.
• 1-4 years of warehouse experience.
• Experience operating forklift and electric pallet jack.
• Forklift certification required.
• Ability to work in a heavy-duty warehouse.
• Knowledge of shipping processes and logistics.
• Familiarity with shipping software and inventory systems.
• Basic math and reading/writing skills.
• Basic computer skills: file storage, internet, email.
• Strong communication and teamwork.
• Detail oriented and able to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Process customer orders for shipment, ensuring items are picked, packed, loaded and shipped per policy.
• Prepare shipping documentation, labels, packing slips, and invoicing.
• Ensure orders ship on time and escalate delays or issues.
• Identify short picks and escalate as necessary.
• Identify product discrepancies and communicate with management.
• Operate warehouse software and tools (e.g., UPS WorldShip, FreightManager).
• Follow USMCA export shipment requirements.
• Work with warehouse and inventory teams to ensure items match records.
• Package products properly to prevent damage and include barcodes/tracking.
• Assist with cycle counts or stock audits as needed.

Job Overview

The Shipping Coordinatoris responsible foraccurately pulling,packingand loading goods for shipment for an on-time delivery with minimal oversight. This role primarily fillssmall parcel orders,custom pick-up(CPU)ordersand some less-than-truck-load(LTL)orders. This role involves coordinating with internal teams, carriers, and customers to ensure smooth and efficient shipping operations.

Shifts Available

This position is full-time, Monday - Friday, 5:00pm - 1:30am, $20.00/hr.

Responsibilities and Duties

ShippingProcess

• Processcustomer orders for shipment, ensuring that all items are picked, packed,loadedand shippedin accordance withcompany policies and customer requirements.
• Prepare shipping documentation, including shipping labels, packing slips,andinvoicing.
• Ensure that all orders are shipped out on time,monitoringany delays or issues that arise andescalatingthemas necessary.
• Identifyshort picks andescalateas necessary.
• Identifyproduct discrepancies and communicate with management.
• Perform basic tasks within the enterprise resource planning tool, UPS WorldShip, FedEx FreightManagerand FreightView.
• Assessed by performance measures of fill rate and accuracy rate.
• Follow export shipment requirements under theUnited States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA).

Quality Control

• Workclosely with the warehouse and inventory teams to ensure that shipped items match inventory records.
• Perform properpackaging of products to prevent damage during transit and ensure all items are labeled correctly for shipping, including the use of barcodes and tracking numbers.
• Assist with regular cycle counts or stock audits as needed to maintain inventory accuracy.

Work Environment

• Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
• Maintain cleanliness within the warehouse facility.
• Seek guidance from other warehouse associates to expand knowledge of shipping and warehouse operations.
• Follow the attendance policyin accordance with the company’s employee handbook.
• Communicate effectively and efficiently with other warehouse associates and customers on shipments.

Safety

• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, including hazardous materials handling and safety standards.
• Safelyoperatevarious pieces of equipment, such as electric pallet jack, wave (man lift), Taylor Dunn (stock chaser)and Forklift.
• Successfully complete the Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) training.
• Successfully complete the Hazardous Materials training.
• Comply withall other company safety policies and procedures.

Skills and Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or suitable equivalent required.
• A minimum of 1-4yearsofwork experience in a warehouse environmentrequired.
• Experience operating warehouse equipment such as a forklift and electric pallet jackrequired.
• Forklift certificationrequired.
• Comfortable working in a heavy-duty warehouse environment.
• Knowledge of shipping processes andlogistics.
• Familiarity with shipping software, inventory managementsoftwareand data entry.
• Basic knowledge of safety standards in a warehouse environment.
• Ability to read and write and perform simple mathematics.
• Ability to use and understand a ruler and/or taper measurer.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and carry 75 lbs.individually and up to 100 lbs. with other associates.
