Job summary

SRS Distribution Inc. is seeking a Shipping Clerk in Brooklyn to verify and record outgoing shipments and prepare items for shipment. You will support carrier pickups, maintain shipping materials, and ensure accurate, timely delivery while adhering to safety rules.

You will operate forklifts and related equipment, perform basic math, and work collaboratively in a warehouse team. Training and overtime may be offered where needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and one year of warehouse experience.
• Ability to read English and perform basic math operations.
• Ability to work well in a team environment.
• Must be able to operate a forklift, Order Picker and Bendi.
• Microsoft Excel proficiency preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support the shipment of goods to be used for sale to customers.
• Schedule pick-ups by carrier specified on customer purchase orders.
• Maintain adequate supply of shipping materials at all times.
• Prepare warehouse orders for shipping to ensure timely delivery.
• Refer discrepancies to supervisor and make recommendations for action.
• Route orders according to procedure and load trucks after routes are created.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area and follow safety regulations.
• Assist with Receiving and Production duties; cross training may be provided.
