Job summary

SRS Distribution Inc. in Brooklyn, NY is hiring a Shipping Clerk to verify and record outgoing shipments and prepare items for dispatch, meeting quality and productivity standards.

Responsibilities include scheduling carrier pickups, maintaining shipping materials, and assembling warehouse orders for on-time delivery. Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED and at least one year of warehouse experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; one year warehouse experience preferred.
• Ability to read English and perform basic arithmetic operations.
• Ability to work well in a team environment.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions (oral and written).
• Must be able to operate a forklift, Order Picker and Bendi.
• Basic computer skills; Excel familiarity preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support shipment of goods and supplies for customer orders.
• Schedule carrier pickups as per customer purchase orders.
• Maintain adequate supply of shipping materials.
• Prepare warehouse orders for timely delivery.
• Refer discrepancies to supervisor and suggest actions.
• Load trucks and route orders per procedures.
• Maintain clean, safe work area and follow safety regulations.
• Determine shipment methods using knowledge of routes and rates.
• Assist Receiving and Production duties and cross-train as needed.
