Job summary

Responsibilities

• Process shipments into Epicor ERP system and prepare packing lists.
• Print Sales Order picklists and pull product and quantities accurately.
• Prepare products for outbound shipment with proper packing materials and pallets.
• Contact carriers and schedule service levels using negotiated rates (LTL, UPS, FedEx).
• Coordinate with production to pull material for on-time shipments.
• Communicate with Sales and Production as needed.
• Receive cross-training in other shipping/warehouse areas as needed.
• Operate pallet jack, reach truck, tow motor, and other equipment.

We are currently searching for a Shipping Clerk to join our team!

Available Shift:

8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (M – F)

General Purpose:

Responsible for preparing outbound products for shipment including coordination of outside carriers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Process shipments into Epicor ERP system throughout the day. Ensure that required packing list, certificates, commercial invoices or other documents are prepared and are included with shipment.
• Print out Sales Order picklists and accurately pull corresponding product and quantities.
• Responsible for preparation of product (cartons, packing material & palletization) for outbound shipment to ensure safe arrival at destination.
• Contact and select carriers to schedule level of service as applicable to ensure safe arrival of product at destination using negotiated transportation contract rates. (LTL, UPS, FedEx)
• Work with production leaders to pull material into packaging/shipping in order to help drive on-time shipments.
• Communicate with Sales and Production and related support areas as needed.
• Receive cross-training in other shipping/warehouse areas and perform those duties as needed (example: Cycle Counting).
• Practice good housekeeping and safety fundamentals keeping aisles and electrical panels clear and inventory well organized to facilitate efficient order pulling and inventory accuracy.
• Load and unload trucks as needed. Ensure all scheduled pickups are completed and secure building at end of day.
• Operate various equipment, such as pallet jack, reach truck, and tow motor, etc.
• Assist with Receiving when needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications, Education and Certifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of two years’ experience in shipping / warehousing operations required.
• Strong work ethic with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Must have a good attention to detail.
• Entrepreneurial nature: self-directed, goal-oriented, customer focused.
• Experience with carrier web portals and LTL freight shippingrequired.
• Experience with international shipments.
• Proficient in MS Office.
• Tow motor experience required.

Physical Requirements.

• Ability to routinely lift & handle boxes weighing up to 60 lbs; most 20 lbs. or less.
• Use various material handling equipment as required.
