What You'll Do as a Shipping Clerk:
- Assist the supervisor in outlining the daily shipping schedule and contacting various truck lines for freight pickup.
- Assist in loading outbound LTL shipments via drayage or direct truck lines by directing the forklift to bring the correct materials.
- Label and accurately count all freight, providing necessary written or electronic documentation to meet company and DOT requirements.
- Ship and receive counts, verify all raw materials, inventory, and non-inventory items, and apply labels as required using appropriate shipping documentation devices.
- Review inbound and outbound shipments by truck and rail to ensure correct counting and loading.
- Maintain inventory records using the PRISM computer system.
- Ensure shipping documents are correctly processed and prepare other records as required by management, including cGMP and ISO procedures.
- Assist in preparing inventory records, receiving materials, counting, verifying (cycle counting), and applying inventory stickers.
- Ship materials using A-release/Stock Tag systems, counting and verifying as needed.
- Maintain inventory transactions through the Prism system.
- Load and unload trailers as necessary.
- Weigh raw materials upon receipt.
Experience, Skills, and Abilities Needed:
Required:
- Ability to read and understand instructions, safety labels, and manuals.
- Basic math, writing, and data entry skills.
- Strong communication skills and organizational ability with various forms.
Preferred:
- 2+ years of related shipping experience.
- Experience handling hazardous materials.
- 3+ years of experience with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and Teams.
- Previous experience with PRISM or other WMS/ERP systems.
Other:
- Ability to move, carry, and lift approximately 60 pounds; climb heights up to 10 feet; stand, sit, and walk for extended periods.
- Wearing personal protective equipment as required.
- Good hand/eye coordination.
